Sailing and Diving Bio

Sailing: Former AYF (Australian Yachting Federation) ‘Yachtmaster Offshore Instructor’. I bought a 29′ sloop when I was 18 then upgraded to a 33′ sloop and lived on board for a number of years. I’ve sailed on many different yachts over the past 30 years and during that time also worked as a charter captain for yacht charter companies such as ‘The Moorings’ in the Caribbean.

Diving: Former PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) Instructor and a PADI Medic First Aid Instructor. I completed my initial SCUBA diving (NAUI) certificate in 1975 and have dived in many places around the world since. I became a PADI divemaster in the 1980′s and then a PADI Open Water Diving Instructor in 1991.

A host, skipper, divemaster, musician

I’ll help you have an exciting and fun sailing trip in the Caribbean or some other sailing destination of your choice. I assist with all the things you need to get setup and ready to go…provisioning, trip planning, boat procuring etc. Once on board, my job is to make the trip a safe and enjoyable one for you and your party.

Kids? Yeah!!

Being a big kid myself ;-) as well as a proud dad, I know what kids like too. You can be assured that they’ll have a totally fun and exciting adventure.

Learn to Sail

If you’re new to sailing, I’ll teach you how to sail, learn seamanship, navigation and general yacht management.

Where would you like to go?

There are so many wonderful places to explore in the Caribbean. Some popular locations are the British Virgin Islands, St Vincent, Martinique, St Lucia and St Maarten/St Martin. There are many other magnificent destinations all over the world.

The right yacht or catamaran

There are many seasonal yacht charter ‘bargains’ on offer and I assist with securing the ideal boat at the right price for your trip.

Amenities and Equipment

Whichever boat you choose, it will be provisioned with all safety equipment. If there is anything special you need, such as a windsurfer, hookah or scuba diving equipment, kayak etc, it can all be easily arranged.

What does a trip cost?

Depending on the boat size and how many members in the party, the costs will include your individual airfare and the boat charter fee (insurance included) plus food and drinks. There are many options for full or partial provisioning of the boat with your choice of food and drinks as well, all delivered on board ready for the departure.

What I offer

I’ll assist you with all your trip planning, securing the best price for your preferred boat, arrange provisioning and any needed add-ons. I offer all my skills as a skipper, divemaster, sail/dive instructor, musician, tour guide and if need be, I’m also a qualified ‘swedish’ masseur.

How much will it cost

The cost for airfares, boat and provisioning will depend on the time of year but split amongst a group of 8 (4 couples) can make a yacht charter very cost effective. I simply ask for a return airfare to the charter base and food/drinks during the voyage. I offer all my other services freely.

You’ll be surprised at how affordable and fun a group or family vacation on a charter yacht/catamaran in the Caribbean can be.
